  • My Mom and I, etcetera

My mom and I are coming. Wait for us on the beach in this sea chanty town, where I will I go from here, to where I don’t know, and to the end from where it started so shall I begin.

We are Lynx cats just slightly north of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Here, there are palatial old houses, castles, pubs, ruins, picnic areas, and lakes. It is a remote place with forests and lots of wilderness, a perfect place for big cats like my mom and I. We live in an enclosed safe area in the forest. That is our home.

I grew up in Prague by the Charles River. That was where my dad attended Police Academy for Lynxes. My dad was a prodigy in mathematics. He was a young and ambitious Napoleon Bonaparte.

My name is Sidney. Maybe I’m a little like my father, I would like to believe. He passed away earlier this year. I suppose my mom is the king of the household, so it is just the “king” and I with some miscellaneous trinkets I like to collect and et cetera, et cetera, and et cetera.

In the early spring after the winter snow had melted, I noticed from our home, the noise of chainsaws. I was outside playing when I ran to my mom to let her know about the bizarre noise. That night Mayer Lynx, leader of our lynx prowl, gathered us at the natural amphitheater in the forest.

He said, “Come here and don’t worry. I’ll keep you safe as I have always done. There were some noise some strange noise and I will check up on that. I know that the noise was very loud, and I will keep track of what that was all about. I think you can all go back to your homes. I will keep watch.”

I followed my mom to our home and went to bed. I woke up quickly the next day having forgotten all that had happened the night before. The weather was warmer and I quickly pounced out of the den for some fresh spring air.

There are maybe about 50 cat families in the forest village. Thompson, my late father, led our prowl. He knew Mayer Lynx, and Mayer Lynx knew Thompson and had a special place in his heart for him. They both went to the police academy by the Charles River.

I was but a small cat when I started visiting the more inhabited areas around the Highlands. There was this picnic table that I would go and hang out which was close to our home………………….
