Act 1: Cosette

EXT. STREET – DAY

JEAN VALJEAN

(finds Cosette and her husband, and addresses Cosette)

Cosette, we have survived this nightmarish revolution. I will rest as best I can. We may be free from the oppression of the king, but are we free from the oppression of Man!

Act 2: Marat

DISSOLVE TO…

INT. BATHTUB – DAY

MARAT

(in a French bateau bathtub, fiddling with a fountain pen)

PREMIER COMPATRIOT

(walks in swiftly)

Marat, hurray, the deal is done and the senate will sign.

MARAT

(gets dressed)

That is good, my friend, let’s celebrate because the day has come to an end.

IMPROV – PREMIER COMPATRIOT, MARAT

(talking about the remains of the day)

MARAT

Let us go then, you and I, to the bar for some brandy, and then off to our families.

EXT. BAR – DAY

Act 3: DEAD IN THE BATHTUB

EXT. STREET – NIGHT

LEE

(LEE is the revolutionaire)

I am Lee, and I will be not locked. I am Lee, I will be free. I am but the Scottish Hume, but I have coming out my head, fumes!

This Marat, he knows nothing, and the French will desert the French people. I will not stand for this!
